Research was related to how it’s possible to best use Acrylic to make a perfect drum shell. The VOLUME series shells are seamless, they do not have a glue point. The thickness and the diameter are made to produce a “afono” shell with an amazing sound. The shell thickness goes from a minimum of 3 mm to a maximum of 4 mm. Tamburo’s Philosophy regarding the “Bearing Edge” is absent in regards the general construction ‘rule’ and is replaced by the Perfect Curve that follows the curve of a drum skin. THE ST LUG The innovative TAMBURO ST Lug – strong traction lug – thanks to its technical and structural characteristics, allows the one to satisfy any customization needs regarding the depth of the drum, starting from a minimum depth of 3.5 inches. THE BASS DRUM HOOPS Our hoops are made with an internal and external HPL (High Pressure Laminate) lining, which defines both finish and colour. Twelve layers of internal beech are attached in the same direction, using a special PU glue. This is how a rigid drum hoop with strong mechanical properties is created. Boasting a thickness of just 8 mm. THE BASS DRUM SPURS Thanks to their characteristics our bass drum spurs offer stability and ease when positioning the bass drum. Strong and lightweight, they’re attached to the shell via four anchor points. Our bass drum leg provides the drummer with a customisable, stable position. Triple Flanged Hoops 2.2mm steel. Precise, light they produce muted and well-defined harmonics. THE FLOOR TOM BRACKET Chromed die-cast floor tom Bracket in light alloy with wing nut for a quick, safe set up. The bracket is equipped with an anti-vibration soft rubber gasket. The shape and small size make it easy to position the drum in its case.

Lors du développement de la série RFM, nous avons d'abord visualisé le son d'une coque en érable. La coque de batterie en érable moderne a un son solide et brillant, mais il y a aussi quelques lacunes qui, selon nous, pourraient être améliorées. La coque elle-même ne résonne pas assez, le médium n'a pas assez de sustain et il y a souvent des harmoniques indésirables. Nous avons conclu qu'il doit être possible de développer des tambours à coque en érable qui conservent les caractéristiques souhaitables existantes, tout en résolvant ces problèmes. Dans cet esprit, CANOPUS a poursuivi ses recherches en cours sur la construction en coquille d'érable, examinant de près les problèmes qui surviennent au fur et à mesure que nous expérimentons. Par exemple, lorsque nous fabriquons une coque fine pour une plus grande résonance, nous perdons du sustain et ne pouvons pas ressentir la puissance du tambour. Nous le savons par notre expérience et nos observations accumulées. Le renforcement a rapidement attiré notre attention comme moyen d'obtenir un meilleur son. Le renfort était à l'origine destiné à renforcer les coques, mais nous avons décidé de l'utiliser de manière proactive comme un outil pour façonner le ton. Grâce à des tests rigoureux de toutes les combinaisons de largeur, d'épaisseur et de nombre de plis, nous avons établi notre approche unique des coques de renforcement. En fonction du diamètre et de la profondeur d'une coque, nous utilisons différentes constructions de renfort ainsi que différentes constructions de coque. Le résultat est notre série RFM qui a un son brillant et solide avec suffisamment de tonalité et de résonance dans les médiums. Nous avons également obtenu un son de batterie central fantastique; nos tambours en érable ont une large gamme d'accordage, beaucoup de résonance et un excellent équilibre avec la batterie.
